Lincoln 2022
What a great couple of months of cycling!
First lets go all the way back to early May where the guys from Richardsons Trek DAS Road Team competed at the Rapha Lincoln Grand Prix on the 8th May 2022. The whole of the Richardsons Cycles team went up to cheer on the boys in orange as they rode laps around Lincoln City Centre (and we even got a mention in a feature on the British Continental Website: From the other side – The British Continental). The guys did incredibly well the whole way through the race, here is the post-race- overview from the team themselves:
“Rapha Lincoln GP and a great start to the National Road Series. With 40kms to go there were still 4 Richardsons Trek DAS riders in the front group and as a further split occurred on the penultimate lap Conor bridged across. Sensing an opportunity, Conor attacked and built up a 16 second gap and was still leading the race as he took the bell. It wasn’t to be and Conor was reeled in by the chasers as the race left the cobbles for the last time but he was still able to finish a superb 12th as the front group stayed together to contest the win on the final sprint up Michaelgate”. – Richardsons Trek DAS RT (Richardsons Trek DAS (@richardsonstrek) • Instagram photos and videos).

“Awesome experience at the Lincoln GP, the atmosphere on Michaelgate was incredible. Chuffed with 12th at the first National A of the season, looking forward to the rest of the series.”

Totnes Vire Stage Race
Richardsons Trek DAS RT had two riders; Aaron Freeman and Conor McGoldrick, competing in the three stage race over the 14th and 15th May 2022.
1st stage: The Crit – Aaron had a great start finishing 3rd place,
2nd stage: The Time Trial – Conor finishing a brilliant 4th place,
3rd stage: The Road Race – Which saw Conor taking 1st place and winning this stage.
“A crash on stage one put Conor was out of overall contention but he showed what might have been without the early misfortune” (Richardsons Trek DAS RT).
Other Team Races and Results
Richardsons Trek DAS RT rider, James Jenkins, has been competing in numerous Dulwich Paragon CC races over the months of May and June, with fantastic results including two wins and a 3rd placing.
A number of RTD riders also participated in the Eastern Region Road Race Champs on the 12th June 2022, with another superb result:
“The race was dominated by a 3 man break with Richardsons Trek DAS riders James Jenkins and Steven Parsonage along with Matt Lord of Hart PC. With 2 laps to go, on the finish hill James left his two companions to solo on to the win whilst the group behind managed to pick up Steven and Matt but with both Sam and Aaron F in the chase group it set Sam up nicely for second place, Aaron 5th and Steven doing enough to hang on for 8th. A really solid team performance which was great to see with the seasons main goals only weeks away”. – Richardsons Trek DAS.
